Motability is a registered charity, which helps disabled people and their families in the UK to become more mobile. It was set up on the initiative of the Government in 1977 to provide vehicles to disabled people. Terms have been arranged with motor manufacturers, wheelchair and vehicle adaptation suppliers and insurance companies so that a scheme could be offered that enables people with disabilities to become more mobile.
Speedwell Honda are approved motability dealers. That means we're experts at helping disabled people get mobile for the least possible cost. Our motability specialists will help review your needs and identify the right Honda products to meet them. Visit our showroom and test drive the models of your choice.
You can currently enjoy the freedom of a brand new Honda from as little as £Nil advance payment.
But as this is Honda, it doesn't stop there. Special advance payment offers are available, with more as standard, across all our Motability models.
New to PIP and the Motability Scheme?
If you are awarded the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP you may be eligible to join the Motability Scheme.
If you have 12 months or more remaining on your current allowance then you can apply to lease a car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), scooter or powered wheelchair.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for disabled people between the ages of 16 and 64, even those with an "indefinite" or "lifetime" award. Disabled children will continue to receive DLA until they reach the age of 16. DLA will also continue to be available for those who were aged 65 or over on 8 April 2013 (20 June 2016 in Northern Ireland).
If you are awarded the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP, you will continue to be able to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability Scheme.Read more about Personal Independence Payment and the scheme.
You simply exchange all or part of your mobility allowance to lease a vehicle of your choice. After three years, either hand back your car, or if you’d like to stay on the Motability Scheme, you can choose to lease a new vehicle for another three years.
Apart from fuel, everything else you need is provided as part of the leasing package:
